Celebrating 150 Years of Craigville
To mark the 150th anniversary a special logo was commissioned. The Tabernacle steeple is now backed by rays of Cape Cod sunshine and surrounded by the words of long-time Craigville resident Dave Gavitt. With the addition of “FUTURE,” Dave’s choice of “FAITH,” “FAMILY,” and “FRIENDS” will help launch Craigville into its next 150 years!
The summer of 2022 marked the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Christian Camp Meeting Association (CCMA) in 1872 — and the beginnings of what we now know as the village of Craigville. It’s a noteworthy marker in our village history, and we have planned many celebratory events. The 150th Anniversary Committee planned the celebration in part to better educate our community about our shared history.
Thanks to all who gave so generously to the annual Craigville Fund Appeal. Through your generosity we can create a memorable anniversary summer!

Big
Sunday
When the people from the New England Convention of Christian Churches gathered for their first 10-day camp meeting at “Camp Christian” in 1872, Craigville had 44 tents and cottages and two hotel tents. The highlight of the week was “Big Sunday,” when the Tabernacle tent was full, and hundreds of others sat three-deep on the grounds nearby.
